About Us
The Stamford Symphony aspires to build a lifelong appreciation and enjoyment of orchestral music and fulfills this mission through passionate, professional performances of the highest caliber; diverse and innovative programming, and inspiring educational initiatives. Residents of Fairfield County have the opportunity to experience world-class, live professional orchestral performances in their own community.
Each year the Symphony performs 10 orchestral subscription concerts and offers additional concerts such as Recitals by world-famous artists including Wynton Marsalis, Sarah Chang, Andre Watts, Garrick Ohlsson, the Emerson String Quartet, and Audra McDonald, to name a few. Performances in other venues include Handel’s Messiah at the Basilica of St. John the Evangelist and chamber music concerts local businesses, churches, local country clubs, and Stamford Town Center shopping mall.
