About Us
The Stamford Harbor Lighthouse Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Stamford Harbor Ledge Lighthouse. The Lighthouse, built in 1882, is the oldest structure in Stamford Harbor and the "Gateway" to Stamford. The Lighthouse has played a major role in the development of the City of Stamford and is presently in a state of disrepair. It is our goal to Save Stamford Light and create an environmental and educational facility for the benefit of the residents of Stamford and Greenwich.
We are working with SoundWaters to utilize the 10 acres of surrounding land to create "living shorelines" solutions to help with rising sea levels and increasing storm intensity secondary to climate change. In addition, we are working with the Harbor Management Commission to make the Lighthouse a centerpiece of the Harbor Management Plan.
We need your help and support to achieve our goals and save this invaluable resource for the community. Please visit our website www.stamfordlighthouse.org for more information and to make a donation to this worthwhile cause.
